Winter 2004/5 The Resort has undergone a $5 million face lift, adding complimentary Wi-Fi to the list of amenities, renovating the landscaping, relocating the gift shop and converting one of the meeting spaces into a junior ballroom.

Formerly the Hyatt Regency Hilton Head, following a $25 million renovation and reopening in 2002, Travel & Leisure Magazine recently voted the Beach and Golf Resort as "One of the Top 500 Hotels in the World".

The hotel is located beachfront (as the name suggests) in the luxury Palmetto Dunes Resort Plantation, home to three of the finest golf courses in the area.
The Marriott Beach and Golf Resort Hilton Head is popular with golfers and families, with a huge range of amenities, including two outdoor pools, plus an indoor one, and some great restaurants.

There is a free shuttle service (The Palmetto Dunes Buggy - unmissable with its distinctive 'beach buggy'-design) to Shelter Cove, and the array of shops, dining and entertainment that is on offer there.

Bike rentals are available on site, and with Hilton Head's miles and miles of bike paths this is one thing that actually may tempt you from the beach.

The Restaurants include Conroy's, a favorite of local author Pat Conroy (Prince of Tides, The Lords of Discipline), who is often seen dining on the amazing seafood on offer. Quinn's II, is a little more casual, with buffet style eating and a la carte menus for breakfast and lunch.
