Set amongst 15 acres of secluded land, adjacent to Shelter Cove Marina, this Disney resort replaces the ultra-modern feel of some of their hotels with a more laid back, Song of the South-style ambiance. There are 123 villa type accommodations that blend perfectly with the pines and live oaks.

There is a health spa and fitness center, if you feel like getting a little exercise, and the resort overlooks Broad River, so it is possible to take a kayak all the way to the Ocean.

Being a Disney Resort it is safe to say that they are definitely aiming more for the family crowd than, say, business travelers, and the amenities reflect that. The restaurant is 'kid-friendly', and there are babysitting services available if mom and dad want to get away by themselves for a few hours.

The Disney Hilton Head Island Resort is a short walk from Shelter Cove, so entertainment is always on hand throughout the summer months, with music from Shannon Tanner, and it has spectacular views of the Tuesday night fireworks.
