March 29th, 2006

Weeks after closing the doors unexpectedly, the owners of Rose Hill Golf Club have files for bankruptcy in a Texas court.

In a move that could pave the way for the club to reopen, Rose Hill Ltd filled for voluntary Chapter 11 in a Texas District Court.
Rose Hill closed the doors unexpectedly at the end of January, with no notice given to any of the employees. Members and Rose Hill Plantation residents have been trying to find out more since then.
Earlier this month Carolina First Bank foreclosed on the loan, believed to be more than $2million.

Crescent Pointe ‘under-rated’ gem

March 14th, 2006

The good folks at TravelGolf have discovered what we already knew - the Arnold Palmer designed Crescent Pointe course is much under-rated.
In Tim McDonald’s blog he’s full of praise for the only public course to carry the Palmer name.
Tim also thinks that the Crescent is a tougher course than Eagle’s Pointe - which we’re not sure we fully agree with. It certainly rewards accuracy more than the Eagle, but does that make it tougher? We’d love to know what you think.
Find out more about Crescent Pointe, including their state of the art GPS system in our Hilton Head golf guide.
