Time to start practising your putting, the MCI Heritage of Golf Organizers have increased the purse for the 2006 tournament.

The toal prize money on offer is now a staggering $5.3 million for the PGA Tour event, with the winner receiving $954,000.

2005 winner Peter Lonard is probably distraught at this considering the paltry $936,000 he won.

The MCI Heritage of Golf is Hilton Head Island’s largest event. The 2006 tournament takes place April 13th through the 16th at Harbourtown Golf Club in Sea Pines.
